Justin Upton celebrates game-tying home run way too early, gets stranded...

Justin Upton has hit 203 home runs in his big-league career. He knows when he’s hit a home run, but he learned a tough lesson about celebrating too early on Saturday.
With two outs in the ninth inning, Upton thought he hit a game-tying home run off Craig Kimbrel. Like, he was so convinced.

After making contact, Upton immediately went into his home run trot and held up his right hand as he rounded first base. The Tigers are in a battle for the Wild Card, so every win is important. A game-tying home run with two outs in the ninth off one of baseball’s best closers would have been a moment that a team can rally around.
But alas, Upton’s celebration was cut short by reality. The baseball did not clear the wall in straightaway center field. It was nearly caught by Jackie Bradley Jr., and Upton had to settle for a double.
Casey McGehee had a chance to pick up his teammate’s premature celebration. He would not. McGehee struck out, stranding Upton at second. The Tigers lost, 3-2.
