An NBA player found his lost dog thanks to the magic of social media

Kings guard Ben McLemore tweeted some happy news on Wednesday: He found his missing dog, Rolex, two days after he tweeted that the dog was missing.

Ben McLemore @BenMcLemore

Sac fans I can't thank y'all enough for all the continued effort and support in looking for my pup. Happy to say I am reunited with Rolex!!

Ben McLemore @BenMcLemore

Special thank you to @matdavis916 for leading me to find him, and Jon who cared after Rolex until we picked him up.

This is social media utilization at its finest!! Power of the Internet is amazing. #MyPupIsSafeAndSound #LoveMyFans #FrenchieNation

It was certainly a nice ending to a story that began — at least on social media — with these frantic tweets earlier this week:

Ben McLemore @BenMcLemore

Twitter fam- MY PUPPY is LOST in FAIR OAKS. Rolex is a male blue Frenchie w a red collar. If you see him PLEASE tweet me. REWARD if found!!

Ben McLemore @BenMcLemore

My puppy is lost. Info in previous tweet. Answers to the name Rolex. Keep your eyes open please.. Thanks guys

Ben McLemore @BenMcLemore

Rolex is still missing. Please tweet if you have any information or have seen my pup!! He is bigger now than in pic.

McLemore certainly isn’t the first professional athlete to use social media to find a missing pet. Last year, George Hill turned to Twitter after his dogs had been missing for a few months and Markieff Morris turned to Twitter to find his in 2014.

Suns forward @KeefMorris had his bulldog, King, go missing over Thanksgiving weekend. RT & help us find #KeefsDog!
