Maria Sharapova has been boxing for 'anger management' during the US Open

Grand Slams still feel strange without Maria Sharapova. You might’ve found yourself thinking, “Wait, what round did she lose in?” when perusing the upcoming matches at the U.S. Open, only to remember that she’s been banned from the sport for two years thanks to a substance known as meldonium.
But you know what Sharapova hasn’t been banned from? Instagram. And you know what she has been doing? Instagramming. Through the whole first week of the tournament, Sharapova kept busy by boxing, going to dinner with friends, boxing some more, and posting pictures of herself in nice outfits. Let’s take a gander through her past couple of days.

SUNDAY BEFORE THE U.S. OPEN: CONTROLLING HER RAGE

“Anger management on a Sunday afternoon”
The US Open started the next day.

TUESDAY: BALANCING

#Focus 💪🏼
After anger management comes acceptance and the search for balance. Here is Sharapova — on one leg — trying to find it.

THURSDAY: SUNNING (OR SOMETHING)

☀️
Even if you’re fairly fluent in emoji, it’s not totally clear what Sharapova is trying to say with this one. Maybe just, “Hey, what’s up, hello, it’s me, Maria Sharapova.”

FRIDAY/THURSDAY: DINING

Reunited #Friends
Real friends, how many of us?

FRIDAY: FIGHTING/REMEMBERING

Getting out for an afternoon workout was not easy today until these girls brought their energy and that was all I needed!! 💪🏼
Here she is boxing again! This is probably Sharapova’s most relatable post if you’re not a gajillionaire tennis player in exile: Who among us hasn’t need a friend or two to drag us off the couch and help us get our butts to the gym?

And then here’s a little #flashbackfriday, because when you’re a model/athlete, your throwbacks are a lot cooler than those of us mere mortals.

SATURDAY: CLONING HERSELF

Three Sharapovas! And not a one can play tennis right now. :(
