Phil Mickelson. Phil the thrill. Props to him — good or bad, he always makes things so entertaining.
During his first round on Friday at the Deutsche Bank Championship at TPC Boston, Mickelson climbed into a hazard on his sixth hole of the day and tried — unsuccessfully — to hack his ball out of the weeds surrounding the water. It didn’t work the first time so, naturally, Phil tried it again. It didn’t work that time either.
It all amounted to an opening round 75, which he followed with a 72 on Saturday to miss the cut.
