Serena Williams defeated Yaroslava Shvedova in straight sets of Monday’s U.S. Open fourth round. After the 68-minute match, Williams waved to the crowd and hit a tennis ball into the stands.
She immediately regretted that decision.
That face was just amazing.
Now, the broadcast didn’t show what happened on the other end of that — it could have been a number of things — but we do know that Serena was done with hitting balls into that area of the stands.
Williams will face Simona Halep in the quarterfinals on Wednesday.
