It seems like Billy Hamilton makes a jaw-dropping catch every game because, well, he kind of does.
Even if I were to take into account all the great catches the Reds center fielder makes, it’ll be tough to find one more impressive than his sixth-inning grab to rob Carlos Beltran of extra bases.
Unreal, I know.
Hamilton was playing Beltran from straightaway center field, as the Rangers right fielder drove a fastball to the warning track in left center. Hamilton, who is really fast, had to cover an outrageous about of ground even for a really fast person.
According to Statcast, Hamilton covered 123 feet and was running 22 mph — fast enough for a speeding ticket in some school zones.
Yeah, we’re impressed.
